WELCOME to the 299er ROOM

Our Club strongly supports development of new players:

g the Tuesday game is primarily for 299ers:

The game is restricted to “C” players (0-299) and “B” players (300-999) – most of whom are players who have recently gone over 300 points. Zero tolerance will be strictly enforced to make sure the game is a pleasant one.  The above structure will continue to give our newer players a game in which there is not a great disparity in experience and ability, where they can relax and just play some fun bridge. A lesson hand will continue to be presented before the game and bridge questions will be happily answered by the director.

                                          Thank you,  Mike Savage

Duplicate bridge is a complex game. On offense, you have to learn conventions (to describe your hand); and how/when to balance; and declarer skills (reading leads, placing key honors, correct play of card combos, and finding good lines of play).

You are on defense half the time, and this is harder. Which suit to lead? Which card? How to establish the defense's tricks before declarer does?

Your opponents are not the pair sitting at the table with you. They are the cards you are staring at.

Here are some conventions for a 299er to have on the card..
