Unit
Game Food Chair
Our goal is
to get 12 different volunteers to be “Food Chair” for each of the 12 Unit Games
held during the year. That way the
workload is spread over 12 different people during the year. If, however you wish to volunteer to be “Food
Chair” for more than 1 Unit Game, we will welcome that.
The Unit
Game Food Chair will be in charge of deciding what dish/dishes will be served.
You do
not have an unlimited budget…check with Unit President for budget
guidelines.
The Unit
will reimburse you for all food purchases.
SAVE ALL OF THE RECEIPTS. You must present them for reimbursement.
You should
plan on having enough food for 60 people (15 tables) unless otherwise
directed. Usually, the May and November
Unit games have smaller attendance due to other bridge activities. The December Unit game will be approximately
20-23 tables and the food is usually catered.
You will
be responsible for procurement of food, delivery to site, set up of serving
tables and cleanup after serving.
You are
encouraged to ask others to assist you.
Serving of
food must start at 12:00 noon at the site of the Unit Game.
The Unit
will provide all non-food materials, i.e. table cloths, plates, napkins, cups,
knives, forks, serving utensils, tea bags, creamer, sugar, coffee grounds and
coffee pots. The Unit has a 100 cup
coffee pot and a 42 cup pot is used for hot water.
You should
also make arrangements to have this equipment delivered to the game site. Ask the President who has custody of the
equipment and coordinate the delivery of equipment with them.
