UNIT 534 ELECTION INFORMATION
Unit 534 Election of Board of
Directors-2008
The seats on the Board of Directors
are distributed throughout the geographical area of Unit 534 as follows:
3 Seats for the general area of
Hemet/San Jacinto.
3 Seats for the general area of Sun
City/Canyon
3 Seats for the general area of
Murrieta/Temecula.
Each of these seats are 2 year terms.
Plus 1 seat allocated to the Past
President for a total 10 seats.
This year the following
seats are up for election:
These seats
currently held by Sandi Norgaard and Charlie Fox.
Murrieta: 1
seat for 2 years. This seat currently
held by Peggy Cowherd.
1 seat for 1
year to fill out the un-expired seat formerly held by Lu Kohutiak.
Nomination of candidates will begin
in late August.
A nomination Chairman for each area
is appointed by the President each year.
This years
nomination Chairmen are:
Murrieta
Area: Jim Wooden.
They will be soliciting Unit 534
members to run for a seat on the Board.
If you are interested in
running for the board, contact your area Nomination Chairman.
The Board conducts the Unit
Business, primarily organizing and staging Unit Games and
Sectionals, supporting selected
bridge education programs.
The board usually meets
approximately 4 times a year, usually at a Sunday Unit Game.
ELECTION SCHEDULE:
August: President appoints
Nominating Committees.
September: Nominating
continues. Last week of Sept.,
nominations close, ballots prepared.
October: Ballots distributed to
Clubs, election commences.
November: Balloting continues until
November 5th, at which times balloting closes.
Ballots are certified and
counted at Unit Games, results announced.
December: Board meeting and General Membership meeting
held at Unit Game.
Board members for the
following year elect officers.
Board members and
officers for following year are announced at General
Membership meeting.
