APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The
Minutes of the September 9, 2007 and June 19, 2007 were approved as read
with
one correction. The pro am teams are to
be held in October rather than
September.
TREASURER REPORT:
Paul
Boyd presented a Profit & Loss Previous Year Comparison report for 2007
through
September 2007 as compared to the same period of 2006.
Building Fund income was up 15.6% from the
same period in 2006. Clubhouse
income was down 4.2% from the same period in
2006
Expenses were up $3,988.86 (12.3%) from the
same period in 2006. This is the
continuing effect of the lump sum payment to
the landlord for the rent
increase for the Clinton facility, totaling
$3,000.
Net Income was down $2,106.98 (11.8%)
Unusual expenses for the month were $675 for
lighting.
Moved by Maggie, seconded by Bert to accept
the report. Unanimously approved.
SITE SELECTION COMMITTEE:
John Oakshott was appointed chairman of the committee.
EDUCATION COMMITTEE:
1. The Beginning
Bridge class ended September 6, 2007.
36 players played
in the
final 49er NAP game.
2. Classes will begin
on October 9 at 7 pm and October 12 at 9 am.
Cost
will be
$65 after the second lesson including book, with a discount for those
who
have one book.
3. Gloria communicated
that she has a franchise for Tuesday night.
She
would
like us to purchase her game. A letter
will be written advising her that
her
franchise is not a rental agreement, and since she has not paid any rent in
nearly
a year, she has broken the rental agreement.
4. We discussed and
explained the $70 compensation for the first two weeks.
The compensation is to provide food and other
items since there is no payment
from
the students for those weeks.
CLUBHOUSE:
We paid $675 to replace ceiling lights. Also, a new portable phone was donated.
SUNDAY UNIT GAMES
The newsletter did not include the Sunday
Pro-Am team game as a Pro-Am game.
It was agreed to hold the game as a Pro-Am
team game on October 21, 2007 as
previously decided. We will post banners and send e-mails with
the
correction.
SECTIONALS:
Mary Jo Davila is in charge of hospitality
for the sectional. It appears
everything is taken care of.
NOMINATIONS
Anita reported that Laura DaCosta and Estee Strombotne might be
interested
in running for the board. Steve Sharp
is unable to run this year,
but may
be available next year.
