DIRECTORS PRESENT:  Richard Meffley, Mary Lou DaCosta, Paul Boyd, Dora Gostanian, Margaret Mahaffey,  Mary Jo Davila, and Bert Rettner

RICHARD MEFFLEY called the meeting to order at  4:54 p. m.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:  It was moved to table the approval of the Minutes of the June meeting.

 

TREASURER REPORT: 

Paul Boyd presented a Profit & Loss Previous Year Comparison report for the month of June 2007 as compared to the same period of 2006.

 

SITE SELECTION COMMITTEE:

·        No committee report was given as no meetings have been held.

 

EDUCATION COMMITTEE: 

Byron Steinert reported that current lessons will terminate in September and additional lessons will start after that.  Mun Takeda will teach on Friday mornings.  Advertising should include ACBL cost sharing.  Moved by DG, seconded by BR to authorize $500 for expenses.  Passed.

Byron is negotiating to present bridge at Fashion Fair as a demonstration.  We will need to get additional named insurance to do that.  It was moved by DG, seconded by BR to proceed with Fashion Fair negotiations. 

 

Byron, asked the Board to approve a revised Beginning Bridge Policy, dated July 8, 2007.  The policy was unanimously approved as revised.

 

CLUBHOUSE:

            No response from the landlord concerning our request to continue under the old lease.

 

SUNDAY UNIT GAMES:

 

299er SECTIONAL – AUGUST 11-12, 2007

Preparations are on schedule.  Richard will go to Nashville NABC and purchase prizes.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

FALL SECTIONAL – NOVEMBER 1-4, 2007

Dave Shuster presented a Schedule of Events, which was approved with corrections.

 

SUNDAY UNIT GAMES

Moved by MM, seconded by PB, to cancel Sunday game on Father’s Day due to poor attendance every year.   Passed.
