Secretary’s Report: The

upon motion of Shuster and second by Nicholson, unanimously approved. The secretary, being absent from the June
meeting, will prepare the minutes from notes kindly taken by Nicholson.
Treasurer’s
Report:
Renna
met with the prior
treasurer, Carolyn Smith, to discuss how transfer of $4. per table from
games to
the building fund occurred. Also
discussed some reclassifications of line items. Renna
reported that all of these changes will be in place by next
month. The report, as received, upon
motion of Stern and second by Shuster, was unanimously approved.
Old Business:
Bridge Library: Shuster
reported that Fresno County will be shelving some of the
donations and a sign will acknowledge the source of the books. The Club Library is now set up in the
playing room; people wishing to borrow books will be asked to sign a
take out
sheet.
Mentor Program: Some
individuals continue to take advantage of reduced fees for
“mentor” pairs. The Pro Am game
reported 8 and one-half tables.
Entertainment
Books: Laura Neville used
to order and distribute entertainment books which raised some fund for
the
club. No one has volunteered to take
over the duties.
299er
Sectional: Stern
reported all is set for the competition, except who, if anyone, will
caddy the
games. Nicholson will be in charge of
food and kitchen duty. Mun Takeda will
do partnership. Also it was decided
that no team games would be scheduled for the October Sectional.
New Games: Current plans include a
Wednesday
morning EZ Bridge game beginning on 9/7/05; a 99er game beginning on
1/13/06;
and an EZ Bridge game beginning on Monday nights as of 1/9/06.
Other New
Business:
1)
Nicholson inquired about
the computers in the back
room. It was learned that they can be
disposed of free on Mondays at a drop off center. Stern
will follow through.
2)
Mahaffey reported that
air conditioner filters had been
replaced as well as some lights.
3)
Shuster discussed
holding a money game, possibly in
September or October or November.
Perring agreed to research whether this might conflict with
Fresno
County Municipal Code.
4)
Nicholson reported the
October sectional will run from
October 27th to the 30th.
5) Fund Raising-Letters were sent to members reminding them to remember the bridge club in their wills. Also, various properties were discussed.

The Meeting was
adjourned
at 6:58 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Sally Perring
