Night Game Begins June 10

Tuesday night duplicate begins June 10 at Park Newport. Jeanie Farquhar will direct the game. Call Jeanie 949-215-6522 or 714-488-3107 for partnerships.

Mentoring Program

The 2008 Mentoring Program begins February 1 and must be completed by October 15. The purpose of the Mentoring Program is to enhance the enjoyment of duplicate bridge for beginning and intermediate players. This is a terrific way for experienced players to give back to the game and develop their coaching skills. Sign up to get a mentor, or to be one, at your local club, or contact Nadine Nakai (714) 545-3434.

  • A mentee must have less than 200 masterpoints and be a paid-up member of the ACBL and the Balboa Unit. The mentee pays the card fees and then, when the pair have played six games between February 1st and October 15th, the unit reimburses the mentee for the mentor's card fees. An eligible mentee can sign up for mentoring any number of times but can be reimbursed only two times.
  • A mentor must have 300 masterpoints.

From the names of the mentors who completed the 2007 Mentoring Program, one name was drawn, and the winner was Mary Lou Kiley. Mary Lou won a free game with Chris Larsen.
